    Position Overview:The office of Advancement Communications is looking to hire two coordinators to serve as partof our internal marketing communications team. It is likely that we will focus the duties of eachcoordinator on either the Foundation or Alumni Relations. However, we will function as oneteam. If you have experience relevant to one of these departments, please include that on yourresume.The Advancement Communications Coordinator supports the engagement and fundraisingefforts of The University of Toledo Foundation and/or the Alumni Association through writing,editing, proofreading and marketing execution in a variety of media. As a member of theadvancement operations team, this position partners closely with internal and externalstakeholders to create engaging content and strategy driven storytelling. A secondary focus isto maintain familiarity and partnerships related to similar duties for The University of ToledoFoundation.Key Responsibilities:60%Plan and create content for use across numerous communications channels, includingbut not limited to print, direct mail, website, email and video.Collaborate closely with the Office of Alumni Engagement or Foundation to developtailored marketing and communications projects that are part of broader strategies atUToledo and the Alumni Association.Provide proofreading and editorial assistance on communications to ensure overallquality, consistency and alignment with UToledo brand.30%Provide regular planning, content and monitoring of The Foundation or the AlumniAssociation social media accounts.Serve as a liaison to UToledo Marketing and Communications team in collaboration withthe Senior Director of Advancement Communications.Have a clear understanding of documented UToledo editorial and visual style andmaintain guidelines for the Foundation as part of that style.10%Determine workflow improvements for creative and review processes with Supervisor andimplement as needed.The above duties reflect management’s assignment of essential functions; it does notprescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism or related
    • discipline.
    • 3-4 years of relevant, professional communications experience.
    • Working knowledge and familiarity with AP style.
    • High competence in Microsoft Office, social media platforms and comfort level with
    • technology of all types.
    • Working knowledge and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
    • Experience or basic familiarity with e-mail and text marketing execution, HTML and
    • website content management systems (e.g. Wordpress, Drupal).
    • High proficiency in project management, attention to detail, prioritization of work
    • and organizational skills.
    • Familiarity with trends in communications, marketing and higher education.
    • Eagerness and ability to learn new skills, software and responsibilities.
    • Exceptional customer service mindset, with demonstrated professionalism to
    • internal and external stakeholders.
