Description

A healthcare facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to provide inpatient cardiology consult coverage on a locum tenens basis. This role offers weekend-focused coverage for patients on the cardiology consult service in a solo practice environment.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Friday through Monday, approximately 2-3 times per month
  • Hours: Friday: 10 hours; Saturday: 11 hours; Sunday: 11 hours; Monday: 8 hours
  • Setting: Inpatient hospital

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient cardiology consultation coverage
  • Manage an anticipated patient volume of approximately 12 to 24 patients
  • Work independently with limited additional support staff
  • Support weekend coverage blocks for the cardiology consult service
  • Deliver care in a primarily solo practice model with occasional additional APP coverage

Qualifications:

  • Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner credential
  • Board certified or board eligible
  • Experience providing inpatient cardiology consult services
  • Ability to manage approximately 12 to 24 patients
  • Ability to work independently in a solo coverage setting

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Epic EMR
  • Cardiology experience
