Admissions Coordinator | Austin, TX | Full-Time | On-Site

That's why we're looking for a compassionate, organized, and recovery-focused Admissions Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking behavioral health and substance use treatment services.

This role combines admissions coordination, front desk operations, client engagement, and peer support. You will help prospective clients navigate the admissions process, provide recovery-oriented encouragement, and ensure every individual who reaches out to Affirm feels welcomed, supported, and informed.

What You'll Do

As an Admissions Coordinator, you'll help ensure a positive and seamless admissions experience for prospective clients and their families. Responsibilities include:

  • Answer and manage incoming intake and admissions inquiries by phone, email, and in person
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings and gather information regarding treatment needs
  • Guide prospective clients and families through the admissions process
  • Verify and collect necessary documentation and information to support admission decisions
  • Serve as the primary front desk representative and greet clients, visitors, and referral sources
  • Provide peer-based support and encouragement to clients entering treatment
  • Assist clients with orientation, program expectations, and available resources
  • Build rapport with prospective clients to increase engagement and treatment participation
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to facilitate timely admissions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data entry within electronic health record systems
  • Support transportation-related needs when appropriate
  • Uphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Foster an inclusive, affirming, and welcoming environment for clients, families, and visitors

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, peer support, admissions, customer service, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of continuous sobriety/recovery
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin, Texas
  • Proficiency with computers, phones, and electronic documentation systems
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing peer support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) credential
  • Experience working in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or recovery services
  • Experience with admissions, intake coordination, or healthcare front desk responsibilities
  • Experience working with LGBTQIA+ populations
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
