Work Mode: Hybrid-2 days/week at 490 Illinois Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA
Responsibilities:
Provide analytical, financial, and training activities to support contract and grant proposal development, grant-writing, funding, administration, and budget development.
Coordinate pre-award proposal initiatives, manage funds post-award, and conduct closeout activities for various sponsors.
Analyze research funding trends and sources, forecast, plan, and manage research portfolios.
Coordinate, identify, develop, and present proposals, contracts, and other agreements.
Review proposals to ensure institutional compliance and program success.
Negotiate, administer, and monitor contract and grant awards, ensuring compliance with regulations, terms, and conditions.
Manage financial reporting and sub-award/subcontract issuance and administration.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors.
Advanced knowledge of compliance requirements related to human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.
Ability to manage a significant volume of transactions.
Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations and cost principles.
Advanced competence in spreadsheet and database software for budget estimations and projections.
Independent judgment and strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to analyze complex situations and identify workable solutions.
Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced skills in using software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to provide quality customer service and interface with various levels of faculty, staff, and departments.
Ability to work independently and possess a pro-active approach.
Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with UCSF faculty and UCSF research administration business processes.
Familiarity with electronic systems used to manage research administration (e.g., eProposal, Proposal Express, Grants.gov).
