Administrative Director, Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity

Work Arrangement: Hybrid work schedule (at least 3 days per week on-site).
Budgeted Salary: $115,000-$128,000 per annum
The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. Department/Program Description: The Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity (CCSRE) is Stanford's hub for teaching and research on race and ethnicity. CCSRE is a community composed of faculty, students, alumni, and staff dedicated to promoting the interdisciplinary and comparative understanding of race and ethnicity in the United States and throughout the diaspora through innovative research and teaching. CCSRE includes over 150 affiliated faculty, 75 declared undergraduate students, 3 faculty fellows, 10 graduate fellows, and 7 core staff. CCSRE houses the Undergraduate and PhD Minor Programs in Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity (CSRE) and the Research Institute of Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity (RICSRE). Across its courses, programs, and events, CCSRE supports students and faculty in the study of how race and ethnicity matter in our everyday lives and systemically shape our institutions and society. CCSRE students and scholars approach questions of difference, inequality, and inclusion from dynamic interdisciplinary, comparative, and multiracial/multiethnic perspectives.

Position Summary: CCSRE is seeking an experienced, motivated, and team-oriented individual to lead the Center's administrative functions. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative Director is responsible for working with the CCSRE leadership team on short- and long-range planning and day-to-day operational functions, including oversight of the finance, faculty affairs, student services, human resources, programming and events, research administration, facilities, IT support, and health and safety.
In particular, the Administrative Director:
The Administrative Director is a key support position for the Center. The successful candidate requires facility in working within and across its multiple components and works closely with faculty and staff across CCSRE. They regularly provide support for the Center's leadership team, National Advisory Board, and a wide range of people from across the university. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to foster a congenial and productive team environment; be service-oriented and enthusiastic about research and teaching of the Center; and be able to meet the diverse needs of the faculty, students and staff.

Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function.
Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
