Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Administrative Assistant. This position provides administrative support for the activities of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Professional manner, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and can work with diverse populations and constituents.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information discreetly and courteously.
  • General knowledge of office operations, practices, and procedures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in following specific, detailed instructions both in written and verbal form, including protocols.
  • Capable of multitasking and effective in prioritizing a variety of tasks and assignments.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe, and the Internet.

Required Experience:

  • Previous administrative or receptionist experience, or relevant experience working in a service-oriented field with transferable skills.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and projects, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities and needs.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate''s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field.
  • College or administrative coursework.

Experience:

  • Prior experience working for a non-profit organization, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience using Banner, Salesforce, Office 365/Teams, Adobe InDesign, and/or iModules.
