About the Position

Coordinates multiple projects & assignments in support of MSDH Pharmacy Financial Division Lead: Prepare & administer proposals, contracts and agreements. Serve as liaison & representative of the department to agency personnel, to public & private organizations, and the general public. Prepare & process reports, legal documents, and requests. Conduct duties associated with fiscal management of pharmacy, third party revenue, program billing charges, product credits, and product returns. Identify operations & logistics problems disrupting pharmaceutical inventory, seek options for resolution, and inform Financial Division Team Lead; Liaison to external vendors, negotiations with vendors, resolve system processes delaying or obscuring MSDH Pharmacy inventory or operations. Obtain & research information on product credits & returns; track & maintain electronic files of program purchases, revenue, & monthly inventory. Research prescription claims in conjunction with 3rd Party & Medicaid billing; be familiar with state rules, regulations, laws, & policies applicable to procedures governing accounting practices. Secondary Duties / Administrative tasks are the primary duty. These duties are only listed to show the other functions performed as time allows: Provides primary support under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to the MSDH Pharmacy in processing of prescriptions for the ADAP/Ryan White Program and STD-C Family Planning Program. Assists pharmacists with acquisition, preparation, and distribution of prescription orders. Identifies third party payers to include Medicare Part-D and Mississippi Medicaid for billing of prescription orders. Assists licensed pharmacists with other MSDH programs or special projects as assigned within the scope of a pharmacy technician.
