Job Title: Adjunct Faculty

Department: Education

Reports To: Chair

Salary Range: $2,100 per 3 credit course

SUMMARY

Applicants submitting applications are applying to be part of the adjunct pool of instructors.

Applications may be reviewed periodically based on student enrollment needs. Applicants who

meet the minimum qualifications are not automatically accepted to teach at Washington

Adventist University. Decisions to hire applicants are made at the discretion of the department.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Classes leading to baccalaureate degrees in Liberal Studies: Early Childhood Education/Special Education and Elementary Education/Special Education are often taught by adjuncts currently enrolled in the field.
  • Classes in reading, both elementary methods and secondary, are in need of a reading specialist.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in the area for which they are applying.
  • State Certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population of students both in and outside the classroom.
  • Prior college or university teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, the university's philosophy and mission.
