SCHEDULE: 40-hours, Sunday through Thursday, 6:45am - 3:15pm.

Pays $22.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE, (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)

Location: 41 New Chardon Street, Boston, MA 02114

Summary of the Position:

The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for the overall recreational therapy component of the program at 41 New Chardon Street under the Behavioral Health Division of Pine Street Inn providing permanent housing to formerly homeless women using a Housing First/Stabilization model. This position provides 40 hours weekly coverage as the Activities Coordinator from Sunday through Thursday serving women from diverse backgrounds, circumstances, and age groups. The goal of New Chardon is to provide trauma-informed, gender-sensitive support to enhance housing stability and psychosocial rehabilitation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in event planning
  • Basic computer skills

Knowledge/Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years prior work experience, community residence, or an inpatient setting
  • Experience as a team member; familiarity with the concepts of psychosocial rehabilitation and consumer empowerment.
  • Experience conducting groups such as cooking or plant groups.
  • Some knowledge of chronic mental illness.
  • Experience working with dually diagnosed individuals, and
  • Experience assisting people with ADL skills; experience planning recreational activities.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with a Housing First/Stabilization Model
