Accounts Payable Specialist

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a growing healthcare services organization to identify an Accounts Payable Specialist in Plano, TX. This is a contract opportunity requiring 32 hours per week onsite Monday through Thursday, with the potential to move to a hybrid schedule upon conversion to permanent employment.

This position is ideal for an experienced AP professional who thrives in a high-volume, multi-location environment, works with urgency, and can effectively manage competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy.

Required:

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience within a multi-location organization
• High-volume invoice processing experience, including accurate GL coding
• Hands-on vendor statement reconciliation and discrepancy resolution experience
• Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP
• Demonstrated job stability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Experience supporting Accounts Payable for a healthcare, multi-site, or similarly decentralized organization
• Experience with vendor setup, W-9 collection, and payment processing
• Exposure to automated invoice processing and ERP/accounting systems
• Experience assisting with month-end close activities
• Accounting-related education or equivalent professional experience
