ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

Prudential Overall Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. This position processes company bills for accurate, timely payment and reports directly to the Accounts Payable Manager. The ideal candidate has accounting experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately classify and code invoices to the appropriate accounts and company locations.

• Match invoices with purchase orders in Oracle, verifying prices and quantities.

• Forward invoice discrepancies to the Purchasing Department for resolution.

• Process applicable prompt payment discounts.

• Review invoices and payment records thoroughly to prevent duplicate payments.

• Sort incoming mail by area of responsibility and date-stamp documents upon receipt.

• Match vouchers with outgoing checks.

• File voucher packages by vendor and mail outgoing payment checks.

• Communicate professionally with customers and plant personnel by telephone and in writing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• One to two years of accounting experience required; accounts payable experience preferred.

• Basic computer skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to organize paperwork and maintain accurate records.

• Strong telephone, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
