Accounting Specialist

Partner with Project Managers to reconcile labor hours, monitor project billing, identify cost variances, and recommend corrective actions. • Create and maintain project charge codes and master data in Deltek Costpoint to ensure accurate labor charging, cost collection, and reporting.

Meador an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a contract-to-hire Staff Accountant for a company located in the Clear Lake area (77058) . Typical duties for this position include customer invoicing, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate records. Experienced working closely with project managers and leadership to ensure projects remain financially accurate and on budget.

As the Staff Accountant you will:
• Support the overall financial management of contracts, including funding, contract values, budgets, and project costs.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for contract inquiries, funding details, estimates, quotations, and pricing.
• Create and maintain project charge codes and master data in Deltek Costpoint to ensure accurate labor charging, cost collection, and reporting.
• Review and reconcile labor, materials, subcontractor expenses, vendor invoices, purchase orders, and other project transactions.
• Partner with Project Managers to reconcile labor hours, monitor project billing, identify cost variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare project financial reports, including budget-to-actual, job cost, project status, and cost reporting.
• Support month-end close activities, project reconciliations, and maintenance of accurate project accounting records.
• Provide professional customer service, maintain confidentiality and regulatory compliance, improve processes, and perform other assigned duties.

What you’ll need:
• 5+ years of accounting experience in government accounting
• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business administration
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a huge plus!

Compensation and Perks:
• $31.25/hr
• 9/80 Schedule
