The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls. This role manages accounting staff, supports month‑end and year‑end close processes, and partners with leadership to provide timely financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Ensure accurate and timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or applicable standards)
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies and procedures
Coordinate audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; conduct performance reviews
Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax, sales/use tax, and regulatory requirements
Partner cross‑functionally with finance, operations, and leadership on financial initiatives and process improvements
Support system implementations, upgrades, and accounting automation efforts
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with accounting systems/ERPs and advanced Excel skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA certification
Public accounting experience
Experience in [industry, e.g., SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare, etc.]
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Salary: $130-$165k
