Accounting Manager

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, experience managing an end-to-end close, and the ability to lead a team while partnering effectively with Accounts Payable, Finance, Operations, and business leadership. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead corporate accounting operations and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead corporate accounting operations and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes. This position will manage general ledger activities, financial statement preparation, multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and supporting schedules.
• Manage accounting and consolidations across multiple legal entities.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, settlements, elimination entries, and resolution of discrepancies.
• Partner with the AP Lead to ensure vendor invoices, employee expenses, accruals, and cutoff items are accurately recorded.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with U.S. GAAP and established accounting policies.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls surrounding financial reporting, AP, expenses, vendor management, and payments.
• Support external audits, regulatory requirements, and tax-related filings, including 1099 reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes through technology.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, shared services, and leadership to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, multi-entity accounting, and intercompany transactions.
• Proven experience leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Experience with reconciliations, accruals, cutoff procedures, consolidations, and elimination entries.
• Experience partnering with or overseeing Accounts Payable functions;Concur experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system skills.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid position based in San Antonio, TX, requiring four days per week in the office.
