Accounting Manager

This position manages staff whose responsibilities include cash applications, sales taxes, banking transactions, overhead payables, sales commissions, invoice portals, journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end closing. The Accounting Manager over our finance department is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of day-to-day accounting transactions.

POSITION SUMMARY:Indoff is a subsidiary of a publicly owned, nationwide distributor. The Accounting Manager over our finance department is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of day-to-day accounting transactions. This position manages staff whose responsibilities include cash applications, sales taxes, banking transactions, overhead payables, sales commissions, invoice portals, journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end closing.  We are in the Westport area of St. Louis County, and the position is an in-office role.  Key Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure timely completion of all cash receipts, portal invoices, sales tax filings, expense reports, journal entries, account reconciliations and other finance department tasks Review and approve monthly commission adjustments Review and approve various accounting transactions that exceed certain limitsReview all Sales & Use Tax and Business Licenses notices and ensure returns are filed timely Serve as back up to all roles in the department Assist in the development of finance procedures and policies and keep manuals up to dateManage adherence to accounting controlsAssist with internal audits and periodic sales tax auditsUtilize Crystal Reports for financial analysis and reporting Conducts bi-annual performance reviews and manages the ADP time systemSpecial accounting projects as assigned by Controller, CFO or President Qualifications: Minimum of bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 5-10 years' experience in management of an accounting departmentPublic accounting or public company SOX experience is a plusExperience using large ERP systems such as JD Edwards- Oracle, PeopleSoft or SAP All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
