    TITLE: Accounting Manager – Royalties & Financial Operations (Hybrid – North Dallas)
    Direct Hire Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing accounting and finance organization. This role will have responsibility for royalty-related accounting and reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, reconciliations, month-end activities, inventory accounting, and continuous process improvement. This is an individual contributor position with significant cross-functional visibility and leadership responsibility. The Accounting Manager will lead key accounting initiatives, collaborate with teams across the organization, and serve as a mentor and resource to other team members. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, experience working in an inventory-based or transaction-intensive business, and the ability to independently manage complex accounting and reporting responsibilities.

    Qualifications:
    • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within wholesale, distribution, retail, manufacturing, consumer products, or another inventory-based environment.
    • Experience with royalty accounting, contractual accounting, or similar complex payment/reporting structures strongly preferred.
    • Audit experience is a plus to the success of this role.
    • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, influence cross-functional teams, and improve accounting processes.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; Power BI experience is preferred.
    • Comfortable working across departments and with geographically dispersed teams.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
    • CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required.
    • Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end, quarter-end, audits, or other high-volume periods.
    • This is an individual contributor role with opportunities to lead initiatives and mentor other accounting professionals.
    Responsibilities:
    • Manage accounting and reporting activities associated with royalty and contractual payment obligations.
    • Review contractual terms, rates, payment structures, and related financial requirements to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
    • Analyze sales, revenue, cost, and other financial data used in royalty calculations and reporting.
    • Prepare and support quarterly royalty reporting and ensure calculations align with applicable contractual terms and accounting requirements.
    • Maintain royalty and contract-related financial data, including new agreements, rate changes, and other required updates.
    • Prepare royalty, inventory, departmental forecast, and management reports.
    • Reconcile royalty payments to underlying sales and financial data, research discrepancies, and drive issues through resolution.
    • Maintain assigned balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting reconciliations and management estimates.
    • Support month-end close, financial statement preparation, and financial analysis.
    • Partner with inventory and operations teams to ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded and appropriate financial controls are maintained.
    • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations, Data/Analytics, IT, and other business functions on accounting and reporting matters.
    • Evaluate existing accounting procedures and identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and efficiency.
    • Participate in ERP, financial-system, and technology implementations, enhancements, and related accounting initiatives.
    • Support external audits and other third-party financial or contractual reviews.
    • Lead accounting projects and initiatives from planning through completion.
    • Mentor and support accounting team members by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and helping strengthen overall team capabilities.
    • Present financial or accounting topics during departmental and company meetings as needed.
