Overview:
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager - Revenue to support the Director of Accounting in managing accounting operations and ensuring a high-quality, efficient, and compliant accounting function. This role is both hands-on and people-focused, responsible for overseeing senior accountants and staff, executing the close and reporting processes, and ensuring consistent application of U.S. GAAP.
The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, operational discipline, and proven experience leading teams in large, fast-paced, or high-growth environments. This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage, mentor, and develop senior accountants and staff.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Support workload planning, task delegation, and review processes for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Foster a strong culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Accounting Operations & GAAP Compliance
- Own revenue recognition end-to-end under ASC 606, including contract identification, performance obligation analysis, and POC (percentage-of-completion) revenue where applicable across distribution and installation/project-based revenue streams.
- Determine contract asset and liability positions based on percentage-of-completion and quantify the corresponding revenue recognition impact for review and approval.
- Enhance the process from the ground up: design, document, and implement scalable revenue accounting policies, close procedures, and internal controls where formal processes are currently limited or fragmented. Including reconciling the Project Ledger to the General Ledger.
- Ensure conformance with parent company revenue recognition and internal control policies, serving as the local point of accountability for alignment with corporate accounting standards, SOX/internal control requirements, and group-level reporting timelines.
- Reconcile and normalize revenue data across disaggregated systems - multiple ERPs, branch-level systems, and legacy platforms, creating consistent revenue reporting where data currently sits in silos.
- Manage month-end close activities related to revenue: journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and variance investigation.
Business & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with operations, FP&A, and other teams to support accounting needs and provide insights.
- Provide technical accounting support for routine transactions, new initiatives, and process changes.
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
- Support system enhancements and automation initiatives where applicable.
Financial Review & Analysis
- Review financial results to identify variances, trends, and potential issues.
- Prepare analysis and explanations to support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Assist the Director of Accounting with reporting deliverables and leadership-facing materials.
Qualifications
- CPA required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred) and industry experience, including people management.
- Experience in large, fast-paced, or high-growth environments.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting operations, close processes, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Experience operating within a parent/subsidiary reporting structure, including alignment to corporate accounting policy, SOX controls, and group consolidation requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop team members.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and support multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a process improvement mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Preferred: experience with ERP systems (SAP S4/HANA, QuickBooks, Quickbase).
- Preferred: experience in building materials, industrial distribution, or a multi-branch/multi-entity organization.

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state.
This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
- Base: $135,000 - $150,000per year
- Bonus: 20% Target Bonus
- Total Compensation (Base + Bonus): The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $135,000 - $180,00
- Equity: This role is not eligible for equity opportunities, awards or grants.
