Join our team as an Hybris Legal Accounting Manager, where you will take ownership of our trust accounting function and financial reporting processes. This role plays a critical part in managing client trust funds—ensuring all transactions, reconciliations, and disbursements are handled with precision and in full compliance with regulatory standards. You will lead and develop a team of six direct reports, driving accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the accounting function.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial management.
• Manage and supervise the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Conduct regular financial audits to ensure accuracy and transparency in our financial dealings.
• Manage trust accounts, monitoring and managing all trust fund transactions in compliance with legal requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a regular basis for senior management review.
• Ensure all financial operations comply with trust regulations and agreements.
• Reconcile ledger accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Maintain and manage client trust accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
• Develop and implement effective financial strategies to enhance overall firm profitability.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations and reporting processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the legal industry.
• Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role is required.
• Proficient in CPS Plus or equivalent financial management software.
• Extensive knowledge of financial audits, trust accounts, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of trust agreements and compliance with trust regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
