Accounting Manager

I'm currently partnered with a multi-million-dollar manufacturing organization near Naperville, Illinois, that is looking to add an Accounting Manager to join their team!

Reporting directly to the Controller with a dotted-line relationship to the President, this role will serve as a strategic business partner to one of the company's business units. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls. This individual will work closely with leadership to provide financial insights, improve processes, support operational decision-making, and help drive overall business performance.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general accounting activities for a designated business unit.
Prepare and analyze financial results, budgets, forecasts, and key performance metrics to support leadership decision-making.
Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive business performance.
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, and company policies.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health while helping identify risks and opportunities.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning initiatives across the business.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and increase operational efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team while fostering a continuous improvement mindset.

Accounting Manager Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
6+ years of accounting experience, including manufacturing industry experience.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Adaptable, hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
