Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Associate with strong experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger/month‑end activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes ownership of their work.
The Accounting Associate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and smooth month‑end close execution while partnering cross‑functionally with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP)
Process high‑volume vendor invoices with accuracy and attention to detail
Perform 3‑way matching (purchase order, receiving documentation, and vendor invoice) in a PO‑driven environment
Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and compliance with company policies
Manage vendor setup and maintenance, including W‑9 collection and validation
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, or missing documentation
Support payment runs (ACH, check, wire) and ensure payments are issued timely
Assist with AP aging reviews and accrual identification at month end
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Own the full accounts receivable lifecycle, including invoice generation, customer billing, cash application, and account reconciliation
Manage the collections process, proactively following up on past‑due balances, tracking aging, and escalating risks as appropriate
Maintain accurate customer account records and resolve billing discrepancies promptly and professionally
Prepare and analyze AR aging reports; provide regular status updates and insights to leadership
Partner with sales, operations, and customer service teams to resolve invoice disputes and support timely payment
Month‑End Close & General Accounting
Actively participate in the monthly close process, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and correcting entries
Maintain prepaid expense schedules and ensure accurate monthly amortization
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly; research and resolve reconciling items
Support audits, internal requests, and ad hoc financial analysis for leadership
Qualifications
3+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated strength in AR, AP, and general ledger functions
Prior experience in a purchase‑order–based AP environment with 3‑way matching
Strong understanding of month‑end close processes and reconciliations
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
