Accounting Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accounting Analyst to join our growing finance team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with financial systems, data analytics, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. You'll play a key role in supporting accounting operations while helping drive efficiencies through automation, reporting tools, and data-driven decision-making.

A strong background in accounting combined with SQL and reporting experience will be highly valued in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and optimize accounting systems, ERP platforms, and financial reporting processes.

• Develop a strong understanding of how accounting transactions flow through business systems and databases.

• Create, maintain, and enhance accounting and operational reports.

• Utilize SQL and reporting tools to extract, analyze, and validate financial data.

• Build and manage data relationships across multiple tables and accounting data sources.

• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend scalable solutions to improve workflows.

• Support accounts payable automation initiatives and electronic invoice processing.

• Assist with automated approval workflows, OCR technology, document management systems, and AI-enabled accounting tools.

• Support accounts receivable activities, customer billing processes, and customer portal management.

• Participate in month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis.

• Collaborate with accounting leadership on special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.

• Analyze business processes from start to finish and recommend opportunities for simplification and automation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

• Experience in accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reporting, or month-end close.

• Experience working within an ERP environment.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to manage projects and priorities with minimal supervision.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to identify process improvements and drive efficiencies.

Technical Skills

Candidates with experience using SQL to query, analyze, and report on financial data are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional experience that is highly valued includes:

• SQL reporting and query development

• Power BI

• Microsoft Access

• Report-writing tools and visual query builders

• Data analysis and database relationships

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivots, lookups, and data manipulation

Preferred Experience

• AP automation and electronic invoice workflow solutions

• OCR and AI-assisted document processing technologies

• Electronic content management systems

• ERP reporting development

• Customer or supplier portals such as Ariba, Covisint, or similar platforms

• Manufacturing or multi-location accounting environments

• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis

• Accounting systems administration or ERP power-user experience

• Process mapping, workflow optimization, and automation initiatives

Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
