Job Details

This individual will be responsible for reviewing historical vendor invoices and supporting financial documentation related to a specific project spanning 4 years The primary focus will be verifying project costs, reviewing cost-plus billing calculations, and organizing documentation to support the audit.

Responsibilities:

Retrieve, organize, and review vendor invoices utilizing Excel.

Analyze project-related expenses and verify the accuracy of vendor charges.

Review cost-plus billing arrangements, including applicable markups and supporting calculations.

Reconcile vendor invoices against project accounting records and billing documentation.

Identify discrepancies, missing invoices, duplicate charges, or inconsistencies in project costs.

Maintain detailed Excel schedules tracking invoices, costs, markups, and discrepancies.

Compile supporting documentation and prepare findings for management and audit review.

Work independently to complete the project within approximately one month.

Qualifications

Previous experience in accounting, accounts payable, project accounting, or financial auditing.

Strong Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, reconciliations, and working with large volumes of financial data.

Understanding of vendor invoices, project costing, and cost-plus billing arrangements.

Experience reviewing historical financial records and identifying discrepancies.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.

Experience in construction, interior design, or project-based accounting is a plus.
