Job Overview
This position is responsible for performing complex and specialized accounting work at the supervisory and/or technical lead level. Work includes accounting, fiscal management, and budget preparation for a mid-sized department/agency, and/or leadership for specialized accounting functions within a large department or agency.

Hiring Range (annual) $68,286 - $85,000
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced fiscal professional skilled in complex accounting, year‑end closeout, budget preparation, grant management, cash flow analysis, bond monitoring, and special assessment activities. They are proficient with Oracle Cloud (GL, Project/Grant, Fixed Assets, BI) and have strong Excel skills to support monthly analytics, projections, and research.
They bring experience overseeing departmental fiscal operations, including payroll quality control, accounts receivable, reconciliations, personnel budgets, requisition approvals, and cash flow monitoring. They can lead special assessment and tax collector distribution processes and support department‑wide initiatives such as budget submissions, metrics, policies, and workflow improvements.
The ideal candidate manages business and budget functions, analyzes financial and operational data, and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency. They can develop goals, procedures, and reporting frameworks, prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, and generate customized BI and budget‑to‑actual reports. They are effective communicators who present financial information to staff and partner agencies and can serve as backup for both Fiscal Analyst and Accountant roles.
