    Description

    Our client is a long-established Texas contractor with a dedicated technology division supporting large commercial construction projects throughout the state. Their teams install the communications infrastructure that powers office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, Datacenters and other commercial environments.
    They're seeking an Access Control Technician I who understands the fundamentals of commercial access control installations and wants to continue building their skills in the electronic security industry.

    Access Control Technician - Job Description:

    Installing card readers, door strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, door position switches (DPS), and related access control hardware
    Pulling, routing, supporting, and labeling low voltage cabling for access control systems
    Mounting control panels, power supplies, enclosures, and field devices according to project specifications
    Assisting with door hardware installation and device alignment to ensure proper operation
    Reading blueprints, riser diagrams, floor plans, and device layouts
    Installing cable pathways including J-hooks, cable tray, conduit, and support structures
    Terminating field devices and making low voltage connections
    Testing installed devices and assisting with system activation
    Working closely with project leads, electricians, and other trades to meet project deadlines

    What You Bring to the Table
    2+ years of commercial access control installation experience
    Experience installing card readers, electric strikes, mag-locks, DPS devices, REX devices, and power supplies
    Knowledge of low voltage cabling methods and installation practices
    Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and device layouts
    Familiarity with access control hardware and door security components
    Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean installations
    Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
    Ability to adapt to changing project schedules and jobsite requirements.
