About the Position
We're hiring Academic Mentors to support student-athletes during the school day.
This is an on-site position where you'll work with small groups of students, helping them stay on track academically while creating a positive and structured learning environment. Rather than teaching a traditional classroom, you'll act as an academic coach, helping students complete assignments, strengthen their understanding of course material, and develop effective study habits.
This is a great opportunity for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, substitute teachers, graduate students, or anyone passionate about education.
Responsibilities
- Support students with daily assignments across a variety of academic subjects.
- Work with small groups of approximately 10–15 students during scheduled academic periods.
- Answer questions, reinforce classroom instruction, and help students stay organized.
- Encourage productive study habits, accountability, and academic confidence.
- Adapt your support to students with different learning styles and academic needs.
- Communicate regularly with Prep Academy Tutors staff regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate professionally with academy staff to ensure students receive consistent support.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or be actively working toward one.
Ideal candidates may include:
- Current college seniors or graduate students.
- Aspiring teachers or individuals enrolled in a credential program.
- Substitute teachers.
- Former educators or classroom aides.
- Tutors with experience working with K–12 students.
- Subject matter experts with a passion for education.
Experience working with adolescents in schools, camps, sports, after-school programs, mentoring, or tutoring is highly valued.
