Description

The Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine (PCRM) in the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine at Texas A&M University College of Medicine seeks to fill one (1) academic professional track (non-tenure) position for a full time, 11-month appointment with an anticipated start date in the Fall of 2027. Applications will be accepted at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, and Clinical Professor, commensurate with qualifications.

  • The incumbents primary academic responsibility will be the education and teaching of family medicine residents and medical students. As an ABFM/AOBFM certified core faculty member of a family medicine residency, the faculty member will be required to educate students and residents within both bedside and didactic classroom settings.
  • The faculty members secondary academic responsibility will be in the area of service, serving as a role model for future physicians while maintaining an active primary care clinical practice.
  • Lastly, the faculty member will be required to produce two scholarly projects on average over five years.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or DO or equivalent medical doctorate degree (e.g. MBBS, MBChB, etc.)
  • Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP)
  • Demonstration of ongoing learning activities equivalent to the ABFM or AOBFP Maintenance of Certification process
  • Current Texas medical license or eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Texas; three (3) or more years of documented leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Medical student and/or resident teaching experience
