    This position supports The COOP retail experience serving the Harvard and MIT communities, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, members, visitors, and fans.     Position Summary

    Support the Department Manager in executing sales, service, merchandising, inventory, and operational priorities for one or more assigned areas. This role provides floor leadership, directs work, and serves as Manager-on-Duty when assigned.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Department Execution

    • Support replenishment, pricing, signage, product recovery, seasonal transitions, markdowns, counts, and inventory organization.
    • Help maintain department standards and communicate customer feedback, sales opportunities, and inventory needs.
    • Support school-, campus-, and store-specific product presentations and events for the assigned Harvard or MIT location.

    Team & Customer Leadership

    • Provide daily direction and task follow-up to team members.
    • Deliver informed customer service and help train associates on assigned categories and procedures.
    • Act as Manager-on-Duty when assigned and help resolve customer or operational issues.

    Store Support

    • Assist with opening, closing, transactions, cash handling, receiving, loss prevention, safety, and housekeeping.
    • Maintain working knowledge of other departments and flex to business priorities during peak periods.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • 2+ years of retail or customer service experience preferred.
    • Previous keyholder, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
    • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Comfort learning multiple product categories and operating systems.
    • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak academic periods.

    Physical Demands and Requirements

    • Ability to remain standing and move throughout the store for extended periods.
    • Ability to frequently communicate with customers, team members, and business partners.
    • Ability to operate point-of-sale, inventory, and other retail technology systems.
    • Ability to occasionally lift and move merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds and use ladders safely.
