Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Specialist 2 to support procurement and supply chain operations for a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing a wide variety of materials, supplies, and services while ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and applicable regulations. This role requires strong negotiation, communication, supplier management, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with internal procurement processes and procedures.
• Purchase a high volume and variety of materials, supplies, and services.
• Evaluate supplier bids and proposals to determine the best value for the organization.
• Select, recommend, and negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, quality requirements, and service levels.
• Monitor and follow up on awarded contracts and purchase orders through completion.
• Resolve supplier issues related to damages, returns, shortages, over-shipments, cancellations, engineering changes, and quality concerns.
• Conduct supplier site visits and assess supplier capabilities, performance, and delivery metrics.
• Negotiate pricing in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and company policies.
• Review and negotiate supplier terms and conditions to ensure favorable outcomes.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support supply chain objectives and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; OR
• Master's Degree and a minimum of 1 year of related experience; OR
• 4 years of related exempt experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree; OR
• 8 years of non-related exempt experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree; OR
• Completion of an Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations.
• Experience creating and managing Purchase Orders.
• Strong supplier relationship management experience.
• Contract negotiation and pricing negotiation experience.
• Experience working within SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience supporting government, defense, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
