POSITION TITLE: 5th Grade Special Education Teacher (start date August 20, 2026)

LOCATION: Cramer Junior High

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited college or university
  • Michigan Teaching Certificate with meet Highly Qualified standards for special education

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • The primary job goal for this position is to plan and implement instruction in both co-teacher and self-contained classrooms
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
  • Work with, understand, and implement Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) including a special focus on early interventions
  • Work with or understand Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS)
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
  • Serve as a case manager, ensure all IEP processes and documentation are compliant with local, state, and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, administration, ISD, and families
  • Have an unwavering commitment to believing that all students can learn
  • Have an unwavering commitment to positively engaging families in the education process
  • Coordinates with outside agencies, organizations and institutions, including state and federal authorities as needed
  • Special education grade level assignments may change in the future depending on special education needs across the district.

SALARY: $43,501-$70,516, per collective bargaining agreement.
