    Description

    Maintenance Technician
    Location: Nashville | Full-Time | Compensation: $85,000–$90,000/yr

    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Maintenance Technician is a multi-craft position responsible for preventing equipment breakdowns and reducing downtime when breakdowns occur. This role works closely with production to ensure line efficiency, uses 5S to organize maintenance materials, and follows LOTO protocols to maintain a safe work environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and capable of training and developing a maintenance team in a food processing and packaging environment.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Repair equipment throughout the facility in a timely manner

    • Enforce proper use of HACCP, LOTO, GMP, CI, and 5S standards and company rules

    • Audit, set up, assist with, and test equipment

    • Monitor and record boiler and water chemical treatment data

    • Use CMMS to complete parts request forms and forecast critical parts orders

    • Lead the maintenance team to prevent downtime and improve production efficiencies

    • Change motors, gearboxes, chains, gaskets, and seals

    • Program drives and use HMI screens for equipment adjustments

    • Repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical breakdowns

    • Collect and document breakdown data and repair details as directed by the Team Leader and/or Maintenance Manager

    • Work collaboratively with Production, QA, and Management to maintain a teamwork-oriented environment

    • Assist in training others on repair, setup, and troubleshooting skills

    • Provide rapid response to emergency breakdowns on any part of the line

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and theory

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a food processing and packaging environment

    • 5 years of previous industrial kitchen equipment repair experience

    • Experience with CMMS, 5S, 5Y, HACCP, LOTO, and CI

    • Seamer training and experience

    • Ability to work from mechanical/electrical schematics, sketches, manuals, and written or oral instructions

    • Ability to operate equipment in teach mode from HMI or teach pendant without assistance

    • Strong communication skills across all levels of employees and management

    • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and push 200 lbs.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • AC/DC motor controls and PLC control logic experience

    • Associate's degree in Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or Electrical Technologies

    • Training on Kuka robots, electronics, retort process, boiler operations, and can seaming

    • Chemical training for water de-chlorination

    • Intermediate computer skills (Spreadsheet, Word, Outlook, etc.)

    • PLC programming experience

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

    • Ability to work at heights of 30 feet or higher and lift 75 pounds or more

    • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, varying weather elements, hot and humid temperatures, high noise levels, and wet/slippery conditions
