Operations Manager - Building Automation
Location: Nashville, TN

We're looking for an experienced Building Automation Operations Manager to lead our Nashville operations and help drive continued growth across our service and project business. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of our Building Automation team while ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial HVAC controls and building automation, enjoys developing people, and has a proven ability to lead technicians, project managers, and support staff while building lasting customer relationships.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Nashville Building Automation team, including service, projects, and technical support.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop project managers, service technicians, programmers, and field staff.
  • Drive operational performance by improving productivity, scheduling, utilization, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee project execution from kickoff through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Partner with the sales team to support customer growth, recurring service agreements, and long-term account development.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, facility managers, contractors, and consulting engineers.
  • Review financial performance, forecasts, labor utilization, and project margins while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support hiring, coaching, and career development while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • Promote a strong commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional customer service throughout the organization.

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or Energy Management Systems.
  • Previous leadership experience managing service operations, project teams, or branch operations.
  • Strong understanding of DDC controls, BACnet systems, HVAC equipment, commissioning, and service operations.
  • Experience managing project schedules, labor planning, budgets, and customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build high-performing teams while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
