Job Summary
The Entry-Level Braid Machine Operator is responsible for operating braiding equipment used in the production of heat trace cable. This position supports the manufacturing process by loading materials, monitoring machine operation, and inspecting finished cable to ensure quality and safety standards are met. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
• Operate braiding machines that apply metallic braid to heat trace cable
• Load carriers/bobbins with wire (such as tinned copper or stainless steel)
• Assist with machine setup under supervision
• Monitor braid pattern and machine operation during production runs
• Inspect finished cable for visible defects such as gaps, loose wires, or uneven coverage
• Measure cable diameter using basic measuring tools as trained
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
• Accurately complete basic production paperwork
• Communicate equipment issues or quality concerns to supervisors

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• No prior braiding experience required; manufacturing experience is a plus
• Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions
• Basic math skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in a team-oriented production environment

Work Environment
• Industrial manufacturing facility
• Exposure to moving machinery and moderate noise levels
• May require standing for most of the shift
• May involve shift work or overtime

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to handle small-gauge wire and materials
• Visual ability to inspect braid pattern and cable surface
