Forklift Operator / Picking – ShippingDepartment: Shipping
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Breaks: 30-minute lunch + two paid 15-minute breaks
Overtime: Available as needed
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor
About the Role:We are looking for a dependable and motivated Forklift Operator to support our shipping department. This role focuses on accurately pulling customer orders, operating warehouse equipment safely, and preparing shipments in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Summary:
- Operate stand-up forklift safely and efficiently
- Pull and prepare customer orders accurately
- Build pallets and prepare shipments
- Support warehouse cleanliness and safety
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pull customer orders using a stand-up forklift
- Build pallets and prepare orders for shipment
- Use pick sheets and record order changes or missing product
- Communicate out-of-stock or missing items to receiving or management
- Perform daily forklift preventative maintenance checks
- Report mechanical or safety concerns to management
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Sweep, mop, and assist with warehouse cleanliness as directed
- Complete additional warehouse duties as assigned
Requirements:Desired Work Experience:
- Previous forklift and warehouse picking experience preferred
- Shipping or distribution experience preferred
Special Certifications Needed:
- Forklift experience required (stand-up forklift preferred)
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and complete basic math including addition, subtraction, and division
- Understanding of units of measure
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter with strong work ethic and sense of urgency
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the workday
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to hear equipment horns and backup alarms
- Ability to work safely in an active warehouse environment
