1ST & 2ND SHIFT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN'S NEEDED - BLUFFTON, INDIANA

A Leading Automotive Supplier near Bluffton, Indiana needs 1st and 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician's. Hourly Compensation will be based upon Education & Experience. 

These are Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Positions offering Competitive Hourly Compensation, Off Shift Premium, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays & Paid Vacation.

Job Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Maintenance Technician is a skilled industrial technician responsible for independently troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing electrical and mechanical systems across production equipment and facility infrastructure. This role requires working knowledge of manufacturing automation including stamping presses, servo drives, robotic systems, and PLC-controlled equipment. Employees at this level are expected to perform most maintenance activities independently and assist with equipment installations and rebuilds. 
            
Electrical System Installation
•    Install conduit wiring, power distribution, and machine electrical panels.
•    Run electrical power from service panels and bus bars to equipment.
•    Install sensors, motors, drives,  and control devices.
•    Install and maintain facility lighting and building electrical systems. 
•    Properly use approved tools for material handling and scrap removal.

 

Troubleshooting & Repair
•    Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on manufacturing equipment including:
o    Stamping presses 
o    Transfer presses
o    Coil feed lines 
o    Automation cells
o    Robotic weld cells 
o    Leak testing equipment 
o    Washers, furnaces, and machining equipment
•    Diagnose electrical faults using meters and testing equipment.
•    Replace motors, sensors, relays, contractors, and electrical components.

 

Automation & Controls Support 
•    Identify faults in PLC-controlled systems and industrial drives.
•    Assist senior personnel with troubleshooting:
o    PLC systems 
o    Servo drives 
o    Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
o    Automation controllers
•    Install and configure basic AC/DC drive and soft starters.
•    Navigate HMI operator interfaces to diagnose machine issues
 

Equipment Installation & Rebuild 
•    Assist with installation of new manufacturing equipment and automation systems. 
•    Assist with teardown, rebuild of stamping presses, and other major equipment. 
•    Disassemble and reassemble electrical and mechanical systems. 
 

Communication & Documentation 
•    Complete maintenance documentation including work orders and repair logs.
•    Contact equipment vendors for troubleshooting support when necessary.
•    Assist supervisors with identifying equipment issues and training needs.
•    Use multimeters and electrical testing instruments.
•    Operate pipe benders and threaders for conduit installation. 
•    Use electrical measurement and diagnostic tools.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


•    Read, understand, and modify electrical schematics and diagrams. 
•    Strong understanding of:
o    Motors 
o    Circuit protection 
o    Control circuits 
o    Industrial Electrical Systems
o    AC / DC Drives 
o    PLC- Controlled Equipment
o    Industrial Automation Sensors
•    Practical knowledge of:
o    Circuit Breakers, Thermal Overloads, Contractors, Relays, Solenoids 
•    Comfortable working with Industrial Voltages greater than 120VAC

•    High School Diploma 
•    2-Year Technical Degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent Industrial Experience
•    Previous Maintenance Experience in a Manufacturing Plant Setting is Required
