Job Summary:
This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for "[POOL]" positions are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. If/when a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool, and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening.
Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool.
Assist with the development of fundamental electrical and mechanical courses that focus on the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial systems used in food processing, forest products, and manufacturing facilities including advanced climate control systems. Ability to fabricate hands-on trainers.
Essential Duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have an Associates degree and four years of successful work experience in an occupational area; OR Seven years of successful experience in an occupational area.
Related fields include, but are not limited to: refrigeration, industrial plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license preferred. Certifications in refrigeration or other related mechatronics fields preferred. Prefer recent teaching experience in a community college or university setting. Working knowledge of computer software and Learning Management Systems. Experience with different modalities of instruction, including synchronous and asynchronous online learning. Expertise or experience in teaching from a social justice perspective. Prefer teaching experience in a community college or university setting.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time in classroom and laboratory environments. Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate and demonstrate mechanical and electrical systems, use tools and test equipment, and fabricate training devices. Requires normal hearing and speaking skills to communicate with students and colleagues over background noise from lab equipment. Requires visual acuity to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and computer screens, and to monitor system performance. Job duties require frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching; occasional kneeling, crouching, and lifting of light to medium weight (10-50 pounds), such as equipment components, tools, or instructional materials.
Work is performed indoors in classroom, lab, and shop environments, with exposure to industrial noise, electrical systems, moving mechanical parts, and materials commonly found in manufacturing and HVAC systems. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and closed-toe footwear is required.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being "rolled" once per term, if eligible.
