The ideal candidate will have strong experience in case intake, hearing preparation, document management, and multi-system navigation and a proven ability to analyze complex appeals, create accurate hearing packets, and support Administrative Law Judges.Responsibilities:Verify incoming appeals for timeliness and completeness and distinguish program types and issues.Retrieve and select accurate exhibits and create hearing packets for use in procedural hearings.Enter case documentation and notes into designated repositories and imaging systems.Assist Administrative Law Judges with research and preparation and interpret procedures to support case analysis.Schedule hearings, process postponements and withdrawals, and manage elevated docket calls.Upload legal decisions and dispositions for departmental action and ensure noticing deadlines are met under Federal and State laws.Identify complex legal issues, analyze jurisdiction and issues, and elevate matters to the Board of Appeals as necessary.Identify and correct errors, locate missing documents, and maintain confidential paper and electronic files.Required Skills & Qualifications:Computer proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets), Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.Ability to multitask across several platforms and manage multiple programs simultaneously.Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to extract pertinent legal information.Experience with case management and imaging systems such as APS, Clear2There, Guide mainframe, HEAplus, AZTECS, and CACTUS.Knowledge of Arizona Public Assistance and Unemployment Insurance law, practices, and procedures, and the Administrative Procedures Act.Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills for internal and external stakeholders.Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy and speed while meeting legally mandated deadlines.Preferred Skills:Mid-level legal background or legal education experience.Experience in administrative hearings or appellate services environments.Work Arrangement & Hiring ProcessTraining will be fully onsite.
