    The Opportunity

    Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks a self-motivated professional accounting manager to join its Corporate Accounting team. The primary responsibility of this position is the oversight of the compensation accounting team, andtheir assigned processes within the Hyatt monthly and quarterly close. This includes oversight over the journal entry, account reconciliation, and analytics processes, managing and providing experienced oversight over the Corporate close, stock compensation, payroll accounting, and other corporate related items. Additional responsibilities include the evaluation and development of the senior and staff accountants on the team so that they may grow as professionals and elevate to higher levels of responsibility. Additionally, the manager will be expected to identify projects to improve the accounting processes for which the team is responsible and manage the team to ensure the projects are successfully executed, including automation initiatives. Finally, the manager is expected to serve as a customer service point of contact for the various business units / groups that are supported by his/her teams, and to proactively engage these groups in strategic discussions as to how to best improve accounting's level of service.     The Role

    •Responsible for reviewing or providing oversight around complex monthly journal entries, higher risk balance sheet reconciliations, or analytics prepared and/or reviewed by the staff, seniors.

    •Identifying and driving process improvement and automation as well as contributing to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including documentation of process areas and testing of key controls.

    •Reviewing quarterly schedules for external reporting.

    •Managing a team of three direct reports.

    •Identifying and leading initiatives and projects to improve accounting processes within the Compensation team.

    •Key point of contact for integration related activity impacting the corporate accounting function.

    •This role has a significant amount of interaction with finance teams, business units, and external auditors throughout the course of the month/year.
