The PDF Accessibility Contractor will be responsible for assessing, fixing, and ensuring that digital PDF documents meet accessibility compliance standards in alignment with WCAG and PDF/UA guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PDF remediation, testing, and tagging, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with content creators, designers, and project teams.
Remediate and tag complex PDF documents to meet accessibility standards.
Use Adobe Acrobat Pro and other tools to review and modify document structures.
Apply WCAG and PDF/UA compliance principles during the remediation process.
Conduct accessibility testing using automated checkers and manual testing.
Identify, troubleshoot, and fix accessibility issues across multiple projects.
Collaborate with content creators and project managers to ensure accessible output.
Document remediation processes, maintain version control, and track progress.
Interpret and apply audit results from accessibility evaluations.
Provide training and guidance to teams on creating accessible documents.
Hands-on experience with PDF remediation and tagging.
Strong understanding of WCAG and PDF/UA accessibility standards.
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and accessibility tools in Word, Excel, and InDesign.
Familiarity with assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
Ability to perform both automated and manual accessibility testing.
Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience in digital accessibility across enterprise or large-scale environments.
Knowledge of additional accessibility software or testing tools.
Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, ADS, or equivalent).
Experience mentoring or training others in document accessibility best practices.
