Description

Warehouse Specialist

The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in supporting both office and shop operations by accurately processing customer orders, managing inventory, and assisting with shipping and receiving activities. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude or industry knowledge, solid math skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. You will interact directly with customers, collaborate closely with sales and warehouse teams, and help ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment in a clean, calm, and moderately paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter customer orders into the system and maintain complete, up-to-date order records.
  • Support daily shipping and receiving operations by processing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming materials.
  • Assist with inventory control, including monitoring stock levels, organizing products, and performing general warehouse support tasks as needed.
  • Use basic mechanical knowledge or industry-related aptitude to help identify products and provide informed support to customers.
  • Work collaboratively with sales and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
  • Perform accurate data entry using Microsoft Suite and other business systems to support order processing and inventory management.
  • Read and use a tape measure, including measurements down to 1/16th of an inch, to verify product dimensions and specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience with order entry and maintaining accurate order records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including basic use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform accurate computer data entry in a business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read a tape measure with precision down to 1/16th of an inch.
  • Mechanical aptitude or a mechanical background that supports strong industry knowledge and product identification.
  • Experience supporting shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse, retail, production, or order fulfillment environment.
  • Strong basic math skills and attention to detail for measurements and inventory counts.
  • Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and external customers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with the Prophet 21 management system or similar ERP/order management software.
  • Prior exposure to inventory control, warehouse support, or order fulfillment operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and shop settings and switch between tasks as needed.
  • Comfort working with a smaller team environment and collaborating closely with colleagues.
  • Willingness to learn and be cross-trained in other areas of the business, such as sales or branch operations.

The atmosphere is calm and collaborative, with a total team size of approximately eight employees, allowing for close working relationships and clear communication. Dress and conduct are expected to be appropriate for a mixed office and warehouse environment, with attention to safety and professionalism.

This is a Contract position based out of Stockton, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
