Duties and Responsibilities:
- *Provides professional human resources (HR) support and is responsible for a wide range of HR management activities including, but not limited to, classification/compensation, recruitment and selection, onboarding, payroll, leaves, labor relations, and employee benefits.
- *Assists with the review and processing of BOR, GA and civil service hiring, terminations, resignations, casual hire appts, and other HR requests in compliance with UH policies, procedures and CBA provisions.
- *Assists in the maintenance of the PeopleSoft (PS) system for CTAHR, and keep abreast of current procedures and features. Ensure the propriety of and proper, accurate, and timely processing of all personnel actions under PS.
- *Assists with the review of position descriptions for classification actions and position announcements for compliance with position classifications, administrative procedures, and other pertinent policies, regulations and laws.
- Prepares requests, monitors validity and manages immigration visa paperwork for international faculty, staff and visitors. Works with outside offices to process visa requests.
- May assist with workplace fact-finding investigations on informal/formal complaints/union grievances.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in human resources, business administration or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for human resources; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of youth education and development as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with youth development programs.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and proficient in utilizing advanced computer software and digital tools for comprehensive word processing, data management, email communication, and online research.
Desired Qualifications:
- Independent judgment in handling public inquiries.
- Familiarity with UH personnel management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive related matters including safety incidents, legal documentation, budgets, and personnel.
