Search By Commute Time Coming to CareerBuilder’s Job Search App

Location has always been a major factor in the job search—and for some people the most important factor. We’re excited to bring the power of a more custom search to job seekers’ hands, which will give employers a pool of candidates who are even more fit for their roles.

In the coming weeks, CareerBuilder’s Job Search mobile app [Play App Store] will let job seekers include expected commute time into their search criteria. By using Google Cloud Jobs API, the commute search functionality can either use the mobile device’s GPS (with the job seeker’s permission) or a specific address as the starting point. Then, by choosing mode of transportation (walking, car or public transit) and desired commute time, the job seeker will receive the job search results that fit their criteria.
