Employee spotlight: Kimberly Quiroz, sr. payroll specialist

Kimberly Quiroz is a sr. payroll specialist who is based in Texas and has worked with us a little over a year. Get to know her and find out what she loves best about her job here at CareerBuilder.

Q: Tell us about your job! What do you do? What does a typical day look like in your role?

A: I am one of two Sr. Payroll Specialists in the payroll department! I handle a large amount of the international payrolls and the legacy CB payroll. Here in the payroll department, we are responsible for processing all aspects of payroll and work closely with different departments to ensure accuracy of pay and smooth operations. We do a lot of analyzing, tracking, preparing, and administering. In HR and payroll, every day is different; there is always a new challenge, a new opportunity to learn.

Q: How has your career grown since starting at CareerBuilder?

A: My career growth started almost day one with CB. In my previous experiences, I mainly handled U.S. payroll and when I made the move here, I was given the opportunity to tackle payroll in other countries other than the states. That has been a wonderful trip for sure.

Q: What’s the most satisfying part about your job?

A: I love to learn new things! I feel that my position, along with CB as a whole, provides opportunities for learning and mastering your craft. And that has been the best part. Always growing and having that accomplished feeling at the end of a new project or even the end of the day. It gives the drive/desire to want to do more, be more.

Q: What are your favorite hobbies?

A: I absolutely love reading! Books are the adventure. They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They appreciate your imagination.

Q: What was your first job?

A: The first job I had was waiting tables in my small-town diner when I was in high school.
