Essential Duties: Supervises staff by assisting with training, planning, assigning, and reviewing work; Responds to inquiries and makes final decisions regarding difficult customer complaints requiring a thorough knowledge of rules, practices, and policies; Coordinates permit services activities with other City departments, divisions, and sections, and with outside agencies; Oversees the acceptance, review, and processing of complex building, land use, and right-of-way permit applications for compliance with codes, regulations, and city requirements; Provides technical expertise and guidance to staff, applicants, and the public regarding permit processes, requirements, and timelines; Monitors compliance with applicable building codes, zoning codes, ordinances, and internal policies.
