DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include: Conducting research to support accurate and complete crime reporting information to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements; Conducting research to validate submissions of crime reporting data; Providing service to local, state, and federal agencies and the public by means of telephone, correspondence, personal contact, or online communications; Responding to incoming communications as assigned and communicating effectively; Drafting written notifications to customers regarding deficiencies or anomalies with data; Identifying non-reporting agencies; Working with agencies to identify errors within data submissions of crime reporting information; Working with subject matter experts to resolve difficult, unusual or questionable issues in the review and processing of crime reporting data; and. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication; Knowledge of the criminal justice system; Knowledge of the methods of data collection; Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data; Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; Ability to operate computers and other office equipment; Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities; Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments; and.
