Job Summary: The lead youth counselor supports youth experiencing a mental health crisis in our children’s crisis settings. This service is designed to support youth in the community instead of them living in a hospital, hotel or detention center. In this role, you will provide support to youth by implementing interventions identified in their therapeutic support plan and engaging in all daily activities with clients. This includes supporting them with hygiene and daily tasks, cooking, maintaining their schedule, taking them into the community and managing behaviors when necessary. As a lead youth counselor, you are the lead on shift that ensures the schedule is followed and all necessary policies and procedures are adhered to on shift by coworkers.  In this role, you will offer mentorship to coworkers and model trauma-informed care interventions. Schedule: 40 hours per pay period- anticipated schedule includes a combination of day hours-7am-3pm and evening hours 2pm-10pm with every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday.  Willingness to work a combination of these hours is required.   Hourly Base Rate: $28.00  per hour         Weekend differential +$2.00 hour for hours between Fri 10pm and Sun 10pm Overnight differential +$1.00 hour for hours between 10pm and 6am ($12.41 per hour sleep hours only when assigned)       $1,500 retention bonus for full-time paid out over 1 year.  Key Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Engage with client daily activities and manage behavior according to client’s individual plan and needs </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Approach all client and coworker interactions from a trauma informed care perspective</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Maintain open communication with your coworkers and coach and mentor other staff on shift</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Attend team and client meetings</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Demonstrate an acceptance and respectfulness towards all people of any gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, disability and gender identity.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure client safety by implementing necessary behavior interventions as described in their therapeutic support plan.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Actively take clients into the community and demonstrating safe and appropriate social skills </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients at all time</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure a clean, safe home by following all policies and procedures on shift.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Work effectively with the clients identified supports (family, guardians, workers) to encourage communication and healthy relationships</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Support the client in identifying their triggers and implementing coping strategies that allow them to stabilize and transition to a long-term living option.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Lead and teach DBT groups on shift to youth</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Participate in recreation activities, games, all events at the home</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Complete documentation as required on shift</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Assists with daily housekeeping and household maintenance</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Demonstrates an understanding of the person as a unique individual and how to implement programs in accordance with the Coordinated Service and Support Plan (CSSP), Coordinated Service and Support Plan Addendum (CSSP-A), and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provides person-centered services demonstrated through practice, action, and language</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Maintains and performs proper administration and documentation of all prescribed medication, treatments, diets, and/or exams, or as otherwise directed by the CSSP and CSSP-A. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA and MORA policies and procedures. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provides person-centered services demonstrated through practice, action, and language</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Prepare meals following planned menu for clients in the home and complete weekly food ordering as needed and/or scheduled</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Reads and follows company policies and procedures</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Check MORA email each shift, utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams as necessary to complete documentation and remain current on MORA and client information</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Administers medications following medication administration guidelines</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Completes all mandatory training either determined by MORA or 245D regulations</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Attend Medical Coordinator trainings and drop ins as needed</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Responsible for the overall healthcare management for the clients in conjunction with the Lead Youth Counselor </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Oversee the house and client documentation and works closely with the Program Supervisor in ensuring that they are maintained according to MORA expectations and licensing standards </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ensure fire and weather drills are completed according to licensing determined frequency unless delegated where appropriate</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Cross train at the multiple Crisis programs to support the needs of the youth and staff ratio. </li><li style="margin-left:8px">Works harmoniously with and shows respect to all internal and external individuals</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Collaborates with the team to complete other duties as assigned or as needed</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li style="margin-left:8px">21 years or older</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Bachelor’s Degree OR 3 years of experience with youth in a residential, shelter or crisis programs</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">must be able to successfully meet company’s physical job demands</li><li style="margin-left:8px">If using your own vehicle for company business, you must have a current valid driver’s license and must have insurance as required by state law.</li><li>  Successful completion of the provided Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training with a    score of 70% or greater, must be completed within the first two months of employment with a passing score. </li><li>  Successful completion of Medication Administration class with a score of 80% or greater, The LEAP Internship Coordinator will help with day-to-day support for youth apprentices and assist with the LEAP Advancement Board (LAB) Staff, a group of young leaders who help shape LEAP programs.This role is ideal for someone interested in youth development, workforce education, or counseling. The coordinator will gain experience in mentoring, programming, event support, and behind-the-scenes coordination of youth apprenticeship efforts through direct service. <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h4>Direct Support to Externally Placed Youth Interns and Apprentices</h4><ul><li>Assist with check-ins and coaching sessions for youth participating in paid work experiences at external employer partners such as Native American Community Development Institute (NACDI) and The Cafesjian Art Trust (CAT) </li><li>Help young people set goals, reflect on workplace experiences, and navigate challenges. </li><li>Support program logistics such as tracking attendance, collecting paperwork, and helping youth prepare for credential exams as well as proctor exams. </li><li>Join staff on site visits to employers or LEAP sites, offering encouragement and practical support. </li><li>Provide on-site support to the NACDI Four Sisters Farming internship program. </li></ul><h4>Support to LEAP Advancement Board (LAB) Staff (Internally Placed Apprentices)</h4><ul><li>Attend monthly LAB meetings and assist with meeting setup, documentation, and follow-up. </li><li>Build relationships with LAB youth leaders and help them track their progress on personal and professional goals. </li><li>Help coordinate LAB subcommittees, such as Youth Apprenticeship and Recruitment. </li><li>Support LAB Office Hours and Professional Development </li></ul><h4>Event & Program Coordination</h4><ul><li>Help plan, support, and attend events like career fairs, orientation sessions, and community presentations. </li><li>Attend meetings and trainings that provide context for how youth apprenticeship fits into a larger workforce ecosystem. </li><li>Assist in data entry and organization in tools like Apricot to track participant progress and outcomes. </li></ul>  <h3>Preferred Skills & Interests</h3><ul><li>Passion for working with youth, especially those overcoming barriers such as housing instability, juvenile justice involvement, or school disengagement. </li><li>Interest in education, workforce development, or public service. </li><li>Strong communication and relationship-building skills. </li><li>Dependable, organized, and open to learning. </li><li>Comfort with or willingness to learn new tech platforms (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Zoom, data entry tools). </li><li>Ability to travel to LEAP sites or events </li><li>Clean Driving record and access to reliable transportation. </li></ul>  <h3>Schedule Details</h3><ul><li>Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F.
