The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Program Application Specialist within the Health Administration Service, providing direct leadership to Clinic Administrative functions in the support of patient care, Emergency Department, Program Applications, Ward, Community Living Center (CLC), Nutrition, Whole Health, Pharmacy, Social Work, Ancillary Services, Medicine, Surgery, Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, Dermatology, Optometry, Primary Care, Mental Health clinic support and to include CBOCs. The Department of Veterans Affairs performs pre-employment reference checks as an assessment method used in the hiring process to verify information provided by a candidate (e.g., on resume or during interview or hiring process); gain additional knowledge regarding a candidates abilities; and assist a hiring manager with making a final selection for a position.
