As an Assistant Shop Manager (ASM) you will: Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager's absence Run the floor (making sure each employee is where they need to be, ensuring everything has been checked on each vehicle, and every customer is satisfied before they leave) Perform opening and closing procedures Assist with counting and adjusting inventory Train new employees to fulfill duties in the Take 5 way Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor Maintain shop, office, and bathroom cleanliness. All our crew members need to meet the following requirements: Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop.

This role provides leadership, training, and development of workforce; motivation; communication; participates in continuous improvement activities as part of the site management team and ensures site strategy and Company policies are delivered and followed to maintain a positive work culture and employee engagement.Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):<ul><li>Supervise, direct, and lead the day-to-day activities of team within assigned area to ensure safe and quality production and meet identified goals</li><li>Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following, implementing, and enforcing Company safety standards and procedures, housekeeping standards, and 5S/lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department.</li><li>Meet productivity targets by establishing clear goals for team and ensure proper equipment care</li><li>Enhance employee engagement by providing leadership and direction to the shift. This includes listening and responding to employee issues, taking decisive actions, recognizing excellent performance, and following through with accountability.</li><li>Meet quality/waste goals by ensuring all direct reports are properly trained on their equipment, following proper procedures, performing requisite inspections, and following up on suggested improvements.</li><li>Lead or assist in the investigation of all injuries, accidents, and near-miss incidents in assigned area</li><li>Addresses routine personnel issues including training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining subordinates</li><li>Utilize sound employee relation skills to accomplish goals while maintaining employee accountability, positive team morale, employee involvement, and teamwork</li><li>Coach, evaluate performance, and develop work group to improve their performance</li><li>Identify operation issues and lead improvement plans in production processes, shift schedules, overtime levels, training, etc., to improve operation efficiency</li><li>Effectively communicate to all levels of the organization on key issues</li><li>Verifies all operator rounds and other required documentation are accurately completed</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Required Characteristics<ul><li>Three (3) years of experience in manufacturing or military equivalent</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities with deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment</li><li>Strong interpersonal and leadership skills</li><li>Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills</li><li>Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook</li><li>Proven experience with reliability and continuous improvement principles and techniques</li><li>Solid oral and written communication skills</li><li>Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule and overtime as required</li><li>Available to work on holiday, off-days, and weekends</li><li>Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening and reference check</li><li>Legally authorized to work in the United States</li></ul>Desired Characteristics<ul><li>BS Degree in business discipline</li><li>Experienced in paper manufacturing</li><li>Experience within a unionized environment</li><li>Working knowledge of SAP</li><li>Knowledge Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma</li></ul>Pay Range: $96,800 - $129,000Graphic Packaging is an equal opportunity employer and abides by all applicable federal, state provincial and local laws with respect to the recruitment and hiring process.
