Ability to set strategic objectives for mid-size social service organization; working knowledge of human services system, roles of human services personnel, and relevant community resources; ability to screen, hire, manage, and evaluate staff; ability to conduct and facilitate meetings; knowledge of the principles, and techniques of counseling services to youth, families, and adults with mental illness and substance abuse concerns; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchasers, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. The incumbent performs tasks to oversee the provision of mental health and substance abuse services to clients of EMS of Virginia (Intensive In-home, Mental Health Skill Building, Crisis Stabilization, Mobile Crisis Response, CSA Services).
