REQUIRED SKILLS: (Need Majority; 3+ Years) * At least 3 years' experience creating low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes to visualize and test design concepts * At least 3 years' experience in writing clear and concise user-friendly text for interfaces * At least 3 years' experience in conducting user research, gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and analyzing it to inform design decisions At least 3 years' experience creating user personas, user flows, and journey maps to understand user needs and behaviors * NICE TO HAVE SKILLS: * Experience in designing with WCAG accessibility guidelines in mind * Ability to clearly articulate design choices, present ideas, and work effectively with various teams (developers, clients, stakeholders) * Familiarity with ASP.NET Core frameworks (including Razor) * Experience with third-party UI component libraries such as Telerik UI * Experience with front-end web technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript * Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React INTERVIEW PROCESS: * Initial interview will be conducted via Teams meeting * Follow-up rounds as necessary * We assume some/all of interviews will be onsite in Madison DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The Wisconsin Elections Commission is charged under Wisconsin Statutes to administer and enforce Wisconsin’s elections laws. The designer will collaborate with developers and WisVote election specialists to translate functional needs into user-friendly designs, conduct accessibility testing, and ensure the rebuilt application provides a consistent, responsive experience across devices and assistive technologies.
