Primary duties will include modeling, supporting, and rewarding faculty excellence in teaching and research; assessing, revising, and innovating curricula; coordinating course scheduling; overseeing the recruitment and hiring of new faculty; credentialing and evaluating faculty; managing the budget; and developing partnerships across the university and community. We strongly encourage candidates with a strong track record of peer-reviewed publications as well as experience in writing, securing, and managing external grants (infrastructure, instrument, programmatic, or research).

Primary duties will include teaching assigned didactic and/or immersive nursing courses in the graduate and/or undergraduate programs (up to 15 semester credit hours per semester); supervising and evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experiences; implementing and evaluating courses as needed; serving on and participating in college and university committees; advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate; and completing other duties as assigned by the program director or department chair. ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment; must hold a master's degree in nursing; a minimum of 5-years of clinical practice experience as a registered nurse/ APRN; a minimum of 5-years teaching experience in nursing education; a current unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in the State of Texas; and must meet and have all certification requirements for APRN for their specialty.

Specifically, the Associate Dean leads academic operations, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives while working collaboratively with division chairs, program directors, faculty, and staff to ensure that strategic priorities are effectively implemented and sustained over time. The successful candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and a demonstrated ability to build organizational systems, coordinate complex multi-stakeholder initiatives, and consistently deliver measurable results in an academic environment.
